Hey Sales Warriors! Tom here with your latest GTM Launchpad! This past week marked 4 years since we lost Kobe Bryant and Gigi. As we remember Kobe's legendary 'Mamba Mentality' it's a strong reminder for us in sales about the power of a growth mindset.

In this issue we're diving deep into 'developing a Growth Mindset in Sales' inspired by our very own Kobe's relentless drive for improvement both on and off the court.

Embracing Mamba Mentality in Sales

Kobe’s Mamba Mentality wasn't just about basketball. It was a way of life for him. It was about embracing every challenge as an opportunity to grow and improve.

We have to do the same in sales. This mindset can be a game changer. When you face rejection or miss a target you have to see it's not a setback. It's a lesson.

Why a Growth Mindset is Crucial

Last year was tough for B2B sales as we know. Many of us faced unprecedented challenges. In the fluctuating landscape resilience and adaptability were the key. Now in 2024 it's about us leveraging those experiences both good and bad for growth. It's not just about bouncing back. It's about bouncing forward 💪

Developing Your Growth Mindset

Learn from every experience: Every sales call, every deal, every interaction whether it's a win or a loss its our chance to get better. Just like Kobe analyzed his games we have to scrutinize our sales interactions. What worked? What didn't? Each answer is a step towards improvement.

Stay curious and open: Kobe's desire to improve was insatiable. He was never satisfied. Always demanded more from himself. Always was searching for ways to elevate himself and his game. We have to emulate this within ourselves. We need to look for new methods, focus, and strategies. The sales landscape is constantly changing, things we cannot control will always be there but staying adaptable is the key. Thats how you build a career, a business, a life.

Value effort over outcome: Celebrate your hard work and progress. In sales the process is just as important as the result. Dedication and persistence often lead to success in the long run.

My Own Story of Resilience and Growth

From facing layoffs to achieving leadership roles each phase taught me something valuable. I remember struggling with cold calls in the beginning – talking too fast, and getting too attached to each call. But instead of giving up I chose to learn and improve.

Now after making over 1000 of calls I relish the challenge each new call brings. I actually LOVE IT now.

I've tackled the tough territories and worked under the shitty management but I never let these situations define my potential. Instead I dug deep, I adapted, grew and found new ways to succeed. I learned to love the process. To thrive on feedback instead of hate it and to see every challenge as a chance to develop my skills further

To all you SDRs, AEs, Sales Leaders, and Founders out there don't let time, obstacles or perceived limitations hold you back. Embrace a growth mindset. Adapt and put in the effort. Learn from criticism - welcome it and let it be your guide to success!
