Was your 4th of July as explosive as the fireworks show? This past week at The SD Lab we were on a roll despite the holiday slowdown as I hope you all were too!
We made some significant advancements with a few clients to overcoming some of nature’s hurdles
One of the biggest highlights of last week was Martin's kidney transplant being a huge success!! And his recovery is going better than we could have hoped.
His sister who was an incredible trooper through it all is already discharged and Martin is set to follow suit tomorrow. We're all rooting for a speedy recovery for them both!
In other exciting news, Jamie unearthed some surprising opportunities. Guess where??… Reddit!? Bonkers! But ya she secured meetings directly from the platform—talk about thinking outside the box!
Then on the other side of the world, Tajay weathered the hurricane that hit Jamaica. He was without power and water for a few days. It was a doozy but all is well and he is back at it this week with us
As for the Slocum fam we hung with some friends for the 4th of July BBQing and hitting the pool even setting off a few fireworks with the kiddos!

It’s time to shift back into high gear. Post-holiday can be a slow start for many but here’s how I have and you can quickly regain momentum
Re-engage with a personal touch: Start by reaching out to your prospects with a personal message. Acknowledge the holiday—maybe they shared something festive on social media you can mention? It shows you’re attentive and care about more than just making a sale
Review and revise your goals: Holidays can disrupt not just your schedule but your targets too. Take a quick audit of where you stand against your quarterly goals. Adjust your strategies if needed and communicate these adjustments clearly to your team. This ensures everyone is on the same page and pushing toward the same objectives
Boost morale with a quick win: Organize a short-term challenge or a mini-contest for your team. Something fun that can be achieved quickly. This can help shake off the holiday lethargy and inject some energy back into your team. Whether it’s the most calls made, the first deal closed post-holiday, or the best customer feedback received, recognize and reward the efforts to maintain high spirits
Capitalize on summer themes: Summer isn’t over yet! Tailor some of your campaigns to align with summer themes. Whether it’s leveraging typical summer pain points or offering “summer relief” promos use the season to your advantage.
Prepare for the next wave: Post-holiday periods are great for strategizing. People are often more relaxed and open to new ideas. Use this time to brainstorm innovative approaches or to refine your sales processes. This can include training sessions, reviewing tool effectiveness or even revisiting customer feedback for insights you might have missed
By implementing these strategies you not only jump back into action effectively but also set a productive tone for the coming months.

Make LinkedIn work harder for you: Don’t just scroll through LinkedIn, make it work for you. Post cool stuff you’ve read or quick tips from your day-to-day. When you send a connection request leave it blank or if you must mention something specific you noticed about the persons profile or their posts. It shows you’re paying attention and not just playing the numbers game. Get involved in conversations, throw in your two cents and keep it real. It’s about building relationships, not just racking up contacts
