Now to this movie trailer bit I just mentioned…imagine your sales process as the next big blockbuster movie okay? Stay with me here.. in a world where everyones fighting for the spotlight how do you make sure your product can be the star of the show?
Let’s dive into the concept of creating a compelling "movie trailer" video to grab your prospect's attention before they dive into the main feature - The demo call
Here’s the Play: "Premiere Your Product"
Spotlight the features: Just like a movie trailer highlights the best scenes your video should showcase your products top features/benefits( just a teaser). Use screen share to demonstrate the ease of use, the “innovative” features that can be tailored to their benefits or anything that sets you apart from the competition
Now set the scene: Context is everything. Set up the problem like the opening scene of a thriller. Make it relatable. Show your prospects exactly why they need your product—like showing a hero facing their challenge.
Onto now building the hype: Use testimonials like critic reviews. Clip in short, powerful statements from existing customers that praise your product. This builds credibility and intrigue much like rave reviews build anticipation for a movie
The big finish - The call to action: End your video with a cliffhanger.. invite prospects to the live demo for the full experience just like inviting them to a movie premiere. Make it THE event they don’t want to miss
Lastly the distribution: Share your video directly via email or on LinkedIn. You can use platforms like Sendspark to send your videos psst.. their dynamic video function here - ensuring your 'trailer' gets to the decision makers without a hitch
So why does this work?
Using your prospecting videos as trailers helps break through the noise. It’s not just another email. It’s an engaging, visual story that shows the value of your product.
In the workshop I mentioned SDRs who used this strategy saw a noticeable uptick in their engagement rates. Four meetings booked from just trialing this approach speaks volumes in my book.
