The GTM Launchpad is where we open the hood on B2B revenue - fixing structure, sharpening outbound and building pipeline that actually holds up
FROM THE GARAGE
One thing I’ve realized lately…
Most SDR teams don’t actually have a coaching system.
They have:
→ dashboards
→ activity metrics
→ pipeline reviews
→ Gong recordings nobody watches 😂
…but not an actual operating rhythm for improving conversations.
I think that’s one of the biggest reasons pipeline feels so inconsistent right now.
This past month inside Revenue Rebuilds…
I’ve been spending a lot more time slowing teams down.
Not adding more tools
Not rewriting sequences
Not obsessing over open rates
Just helping leadership teams actually inspect:
→ conversations
→ patterns
→ resistance moments
→ qualification gaps
→ coaching opportunities
and once you do that…
you realize something fast
Most pipeline problems start WAY earlier than leadership thinks they do.
Not in the CRM.
Inside the conversations nobody is reviewing consistently.
and weirdly enough…
this has mirrored my own life lately too
The more structure I’ve added:
→ weekly planning
→ coaching cadence
→ protected deep work
→ clear priorities
→ operational rhythm
…the less chaotic everything feels
Business feels cleaner
Pipeline feels cleaner
Life feels cleaner
Same thing happens inside sales teams
Clarity creates consistency
and consistency creates momentum
PIPELINE LEAK
MOST SDR COACHING IS REACTIVE
Most leadership teams don’t coach until the numbers miss.
Pipeline slows down…
then suddenly everybody wants
→ more dials
→ more outbound
→ more meetings
→ more urgency
But by then?
The leak usually started weeks earlier
Inside:
→ shallow discovery
→ weak qualification
→ rushed conversations
→ premature pitching
→ poor next-step ownership
That’s the part most dashboards never show you
Because dashboards show outcomes
Calls show behavior
and behavior is what creates pipeline
WHAT I’M SEEING INSIDE REAL CALL REVIEWS
This week during a coaching session…
we reviewed a stack of connected calls from an SDR team
Not terrible calls either
The reps sounded good
Confident
Professional
But over and over again…
the same thing kept happening
Prospect gives surface-level resistance
Rep accepts it immediately
Conversation dies
No second layer
No exploration
No curiosity
Just:
“Totally understand”
“Got it”
“No worries”
Dead
That’s not usually a rep issue first
That’s a coaching issue
Because most reps were trained to:
→ survive objections
not
→ explore them
Huge difference
THE SHIFT MOST LEADERS ARE MISSING
the entire outbound world was obsessed with attention
Open rates
Reply rates
Personalization
AI tooling
Sequences
Now?
A lot of teams ARE getting replies
The bottleneck shifted
The new problem is
👉 can your reps actually progress real business conversations?
Can they:
→ stay calm under pressure?
→ ask another question?
→ uncover business pain?
→ create urgency?
→ challenge vague answers?
→ guide discovery instead of escaping resistance?
That’s the game now
Not who can generate the most activity
Who can create the strongest commercial conversations
OPEN THE HOOD
One thing we implemented this week was a structured coaching scorecard
Not:
“great call”
“bad call”
“needs more urgency”
Actual operational inspection
We started grading:
→ call control
→ discovery depth
→ objection handling
→ pacing
→ confidence
→ next-step ownership
and almost immediately…
patterns became obvious
Not emotional
Not opinion based
Visible
That’s when coaching actually becomes scalable
Because now leadership can stop coaching randomly…
and start coaching specific behaviors consistently
Most teams don’t need another hype session
They need tighter inspection systems
THE BIGGEST MISTAKE
Most SDR coaching today is reactive
Leader hears pipeline is slow…
so they tell reps:
→ work harder
→ push harder
→ increase activity
But if conversations are leaking upstream…
more activity just creates more bad pipeline.
I said this on a call recently and the room got real quiet
👉 “Most reps don’t need a better script. They need better direction”
Direction creates confidence
Not volume
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT - FYXER
One thing I underestimated this year?
How much mental energy gets burned from constant inbox context switching
Founder emails
Client threads
Internal team stuff
Partnerships
Newsletters
Podcast coordination
Calendars
Follow ups
At one point my inbox had 600+ emails sitting in it and I felt like I was checking Gmail every 7 minutes 😂
I recently started testing Fyxer and…
…it’s one of the more practical AI workflow tools I’ve used in a while
Not “AI for the sake of AI”
Actually useful
A few things I’ve liked so far:
→ auto-categorizes inboxes into actionable buckets
→ drafts replies in your tone
→ surfaces what actually needs attention
→ helps reduce constant inbox switching
→ includes scheduling and meeting notes built in
The first day actually threw me off because it reorganized my Gmail automatically and I thought emails disappeared 😂
But once I understood the workflow?
Game changer
Especially for founders, operators and sales leaders juggling a million moving pieces every day
I’ve personally gone from 675 emails down to under 400 already without feeling buried every morning
Worth checking out if your inbox feels like controlled chaos lately
UNDER THE HOOD
A few things from this week:
→ Continued rebuilding live coaching systems with client teams
→ Built out our “Mastering The Pocket” call framework
→ Had another great sync with a potential Revenue Rebuild client
→ Recorded another CDU episode — this one with the VP of Event Experience at Varsity
→ Episode #22 with the President of Varsity droped this week which still feels insane 😂
→ Headed to San Diego this weekend with the family for my wife’s birthday
the biggest thing I’m appreciating lately is this
Structure creates freedom
The reason I could leave town for a few days and not feel buried…
is because everything has a place now
Calendar
Tasks
Work blocks
Coaching cadence
Priorities
The same thing applies to pipeline
Chaos creates leaks
Structure creates momentum
30 SECOND INSPECTION
Quick gut check:
If you asked your managers right now
👉 “Where exactly are reps losing control inside conversations?”
Would they actually know?
or would they just point at activity metrics?
Because those are two VERY different levels of leadership
ONE MORE THING
If your SDR team is generating activity…
but conversations still feel shallow…
that’s exactly what we fix inside Revenue Rebuild
Not more noise
Better inspection
Better coaching
Better progression systems
THE QUESTION
What do you think SDR teams are MOST under-coached on right now?
→ discovery depth?
→ objection handling?
→ qualification?
→ call control?
→ next-step ownership?
Reply and let me know
I read every one
Have a great week homies 🤙
Thanks for reading. See you again next week at 8 am MST!

How The SD Lab Helps
If your outbound motion feels busy…
…but fragile
If your CRM looks full…
…but forecasting still feels shaky
If your team works hard…
…but pipeline doesn’t feel predictable
That’s what I fix
I work with founders and sales leaders in B2B (Series A–B, 5–20+ reps) who need structure before scale
Not more activity
Not more tools
Structure
Here’s how we do it:
Revenue Rebuild (45 Days)
This is the core engagement.
A hands-on rebuild of your outbound foundation so pipeline becomes structured, measurable and owned by the team not held together by heroics.
Inside 45 days we:
Lock in ICP and segmentation
Define deal stages with real exit criteria
Install signal-driven targeting
Simplify outbound into one focused lane at a time
Build systems your team can actually run
Best for:
Stalled or inconsistent pipeline
Founder-led outbound that needs structure
Forecasts built on vibes instead of milestones
Focused Workshops
When you don’t need a full rebuild just a sharp correction
Cold call intensives
Messaging and email teardown sessions
SDR workflow audits
Founder-led outbound calibration
Designed for fast clarity and immediate execution lift
Outbound Underground
Our private Slack community for reps and leaders building outbound in the real world.
Weekly office hours
Templates and teardowns
Honest feedback from operators
No gurus
If you’re reading this thinking, “Does this apply to us?”
It probably does
Book a 20 min Pipeline Diagnostic
No pitch. Just alignment
